Dr. Brett Nielsen, DPM grew up in rural Nebraska with a large family and his dog named Chester. Following graduation, Dr. Nielsen moved to Idaho to attend BYU Idaho. While attending the university, he had his bunion surgically corrected and was able to return to physical activity and ultimately perform missionary work in Mexico for two years. The continued relief achieved from his surgery made him very interested in podiatry. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Nielsen received his B.A. in Spanish from Utah Valley University. Dr. Nielsen earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland Ohio where he was able to make the Dean’s List. Dr. Nielsen completed a 3 year surgical residency in Tampa Florida where he was able to serve as chief resident while receiving extensive training in wound care, infections, foot and ankle deformities and diabetic foot care. He is board qualified, and constantly researching the latest advancements in podiatric medicine. Dr. Nielsen strongly believes in building a relationship with his patients as to treat every patient as an individual and accommodate the needs of each patient on a case by case basis. In his free time, Dr. Nielsen enjoys spending time with his family, live music, golf, and swimming.
